The alpaca, from the camelid family, is the cousin of the llama. It is raised by families of shepherds, in the south of Peru, on the high plateaus of the Andes, at temperatures that can vary from - 20 to + 30 degrees in the same day. These extreme living conditions, as well as the vegetation of the Andes, give alpaca wool unique properties of softness, warmth, lightness and resistance.
